Reference · TBD dates
Why two-thirds of NPIs return TBD
Two-thirds of NPIs in the CMS revalidation file show no date. In the 2026-10-01 file, 270,992 of 2,961,444 rows (9.2%) carry a revalidation due date. The rest read TBD.
This is how CMS publishes the list, not a broken lookup. Only enrollments coming due in roughly the next six months get a date. If yours isn't in that window, nobody can tell you the date yet. List published 2026-10-01.

Estimate when the date becomes public
estimate Estimate only. A 3-year cycle counted from 2022 points at 2025. CMS publishes about 6 months ahead, so the date would usually show up around 2024-07, not on 2025-01. This is not a CMS due date.
Individual physicians
Dates that are still in the future belong to organizations. A physician NPI with no date is the usual result, not a broken lookup. In the list published 2026-10-01, individual rows with a future date: 0.
