Form 855S: what CMS actually checks
DMEPOS suppliers. You sign it. Enrollment Watch does not.
A DMEPOS cycle is 3 years, not 5. The public file still will not show the date until about six months out.
What the form is actually about
- Supplier type and products
- Location where the inventory sits
- Accreditation
- Surety bond
- Adverse legal actions
Returns we see when a package comes back
- Accreditation lapsed
- Site address does not match NPPES
- Legal name does not match the IRS letter
Check the public NPI record before you type
The free lookup shows the NPI, the state, and which form to file. The paid check compares the address and specialty with the public NPI registry. It cannot see your PECOS screen.
